Manage fields in the list

The specific details of the contact are stored in the list field. You can edit the fields as needed through the list of settings in your account.

In this article, you will learn about the different types of fields and how you can manage the fields in the list.

Types of fields

Taximail have many types of fields that are ready for you to use. If you want to import contact information in the list please make sure that your data is formatted to fit for each type of field.

  • Text(256) text in up to 256 characters.
  • Text(1024) text in up to 1024 characters.
  • Integer numeric data stores integer values.
  • Float numeric data with a decimal point.
  • Enum only a few possible values, such as sex (male, female).
  • Boolean data that holds true and false.
  • Date date in YYYY-MM-DD format.
  • Time time in HH:MM:SS format.
  • Datetime date and time in YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS format.

Add fields to the list

To add fields to the list, follow these steps:

  1. Select Lists on the main menu.
  2. Click the name of the list you want.
  3. In the List settings section, click the Custom fields button.

  1. Click the Add custom field button. Specify the details of the fields provided and click the Apply button to save.

  • Name name of the fields.
  • Key value for the field reference when calling the API.
  • Fallback value value to display if the contact has no information in that field.
  • Data type the type of data in the fields.
  • Type the type of fields such as field default and custom fields.
  • Merge tag specific text enclosed by braces { } and percentage %, used for inserting dynamic content.

Edit the fields in the list

To edit the fields in the list, follow these steps:

  1. Select Lists on the main menu.
  2. Click the name of the list you want.
  3. In the *List settings** section, click the Custom fields button.

  1. Select the field you want. Click theEditicon to edit.

Tips: Click theUndoicon to cancel the field edit. Or click theDeleteicon to delete the field.

  1. After editing the finished. Click the Apply button to save.

Delete the field in the list

To delete the field in the list, follow these steps:

  1. Select Lists on the main menu.
  2. Click the name of the list you want.
  3. In the List settings section, click the Custom fields button.

  1. Select the field you want. Click theEditicon and click theDeleteicon to delete.

  1. Click the Apply button to save. You will see a confirmation message for deletion. Click the Confirm button to confirm.

Limits for fields

  • You can add up to 50 custom fields to each list. Each custom field value has a data limit of 1024 characters.
  • The type Text(1024) field stores data that is up to 1024 characters and cannot be used in conjunction with the segmentation of contacts.

After you are familiar with the list of fields. You can segmentation of contacts with information in the field and send the campaign to a segment of interested contacts or people with similar profiles.
